Small Animal Surgery

Elk Meadow Animal Hospital is equipped to perform a variety of surgical procedures in our state of the art surgery suite. These include elective procedures such as spays and neuters as well as more advanced orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries. We are affiliated with board certified surgeons and can arrange for one to be called in for advanced procedures if needed.

We are equipped with a full surgery suite, state-of-the-art anesthesia equipment, and comprehensive anesthesia monitoring.

Individual Approach to Surgery 

• Complete physical examination
• Ultrasound or digital x-rays if needed
• Pre-anesthetic blood testing
• Anesthetic protocol customized to age, health and the surgical procedure the patient will undergo
• Comprehensive anesthesia monitoring during surgery
• Intravenous catheter and fluids during surgery: support blood pressure, external heat support to monitor body temperature
• Pain management before, during and after surgery
